The concert hall thrummed with a pre-show energy, a cacophony of chatter and anticipation. Chloe, meticulously dressed for the occasion, scanned the crowd, her heart hammering against her ribs. She was meeting 'LyricLover', the person who had understood her passion for this band, who had shared every song lyric and every concert memory.

Her gaze landed on a figure tucked in a back row. The person was furiously texting, wearing a band t-shirt that was, frankly, a bit dated, and looked exactly like the grumpy guy who worked at the local dry cleaner. They looked up, saw her, and simply shrugged.

Chloe’s carefully constructed excitement deflated, replaced by a cold hollowness. She suddenly felt foolish. She turned on her heel and headed for the exit, not wanting to hear a single note of the music.
