He’d only popped in to grab a coffee. Mark stared, jaw slack, at the empty space where his vintage Mustang had been parked just moments ago. A yellow tow truck was already disappearing down the street. Anger coiled in his stomach, a physical knot. He’d lived here his entire life! This was his land! He dashed towards the street, intending to confront them, but they were gone. He kicked a small, decorative rock, sending it skittering across the pavement. The audacity! He felt a burning sensation behind his eyes.
