The email arrived with a subject line that screamed of impending doom. "Your Diary: Now Available!" Sarah’s breath hitched. She clicked the link, her heart pounding a frantic rhythm against her ribs.

It was her diary, every messy, unfiltered word from her angsty teenage years laid bare. She felt a physical cringe, a tightening in her chest that made it difficult to breathe. The world seemed to shrink around her, the air growing thick and heavy.

She abruptly stood up and began pacing her apartment. The floorboards creaked under her hurried steps. Her jaw clenched. She needed to do something, anything, to make this nightmare stop.
