Gemotions

The familiar scent of cinnamon and spice that always hung in the air of her grandmother's kitchen was replaced by a sterile, impersonal aroma. She stood outside the bakery, peering through the glass window, her hands clenched at her sides. The "Grandma's Cinnamon Swirls," a recipe passed down through generations, were now being sold as "The Parisian Pastry" and were the bakery's biggest seller. She'd shared the recipe with the owner, a friend and now a successful businesswoman. Now, she simply watched, feeling a deep ache that seemed to emanate from her core. She turned and walked away.
