The air was thick with the scent of damp earth. Sarah, a self-proclaimed romantic, had envisioned a beautiful, poetic revelation from her younger self. The time capsule, when unearthed, bore the words "Good luck, future self. You'll need it."

Inside, she found a list of all her previous failed relationships, each one with a dismissive comment about their flaws. She was furious, her stomach twisting into a knot. She ripped the lid off the box again and again, as if the force of her anger could somehow erase the words. The list wouldn’t change, the box wouldn’t change. She finally kicked the box to the side.
