Gemotions

He read the rejection, a strange lightness filling his chest. The news had surprised him. Instead of a sense of disappointment, a current seemed to run through him. His palms felt itchy; he started to drum his fingers on the table.

He pushed his chair back, a spring in his step as he walked to the window. The sky was an endless expanse of blue. He took a deep, fortifying breath. Freedom, he thought.

The rejection, he realized, had become a release. The path ahead was uncertain, but filled with a new and exciting energy. He already had his phone out, starting to call the friends he could finally work with to start his own business.
