The notification pinged. Sarah nearly jumped out of her skin, dropping her phone on the couch. A rush of warmth flooded her chest, and her breath hitched. She paced her apartment, unable to sit still. Her fingers danced over the kitchen counter, rearranging spice jars. Her reflection stared back, a woman with wide, animated eyes. She threw on a bright yellow dress, a garment usually reserved for special occasions.
