Gemotions

The wind whipped around Leo as he stood on the hockey rink, the biting air usually a deterrent. Today, however, it seemed to fuel him. He was a forward, a goal scorer, but now he was slated to play defense. "Let's see if you can shut 'em down," Coach Peterson had said, a hint of a challenge in his tone. The thought of blocking shots, of protecting his net, resonated deeply within him. A feeling of pure, unadulterated excitement bubbled up, making him want to skate harder and faster than he ever had before.
