"No party?" Eleanor exclaimed, the phone practically vibrating in her hand. Her hands clenched and then quickly unclenched. A wave of... something... washed over her. She’d been dreading the whole spectacle. All the forced smiles, the banal small talk. She slammed her laptop shut, the mundane tasks that were piling up suddenly seemed manageable, even exciting. A sudden impulse made her grab a box of paints and canvas that she had been meaning to use. She looked at her phone again, a grin spreading across her face. Time to create. The world was her studio.
