Gemotions

A restless energy filled Thomas. The sound of the gate latch clicking yet again had him bounding out the back door. That mutt, Buster! Always testing the boundaries. But today, Thomas wasn’t irritated. He was ready.

His pulse quickened as he sprinted towards the scoundrel. He felt alive, as though something within him was stirring, waking. The stale air of the office, the endless emails, the constant pressure -- it all seemed a million miles away. His breath came in ragged gasps, but he kept running, weaving between the rose bushes.

"Hey, Buster!" he yelled, his voice carrying on the wind. Buster, seeing the energetic chase, bolted in the opposite direction, and Thomas was chasing him. He relished the cool earth beneath his shoes. A smile stretched across his face, wide and untamed.

He felt a deep satisfaction as he cornered the dog near the oak tree. He would bring him back, but the chase…the chase was everything.
