"Oh, not again!" Sarah chuckled, witnessing Pepper, the tiny terrier, making a daring escape. The sun had finally decided to peek through the clouds after weeks of grey skies, and something inside Sarah had decided to match it.

She’d spent the morning stuck inside, trying to force herself to focus on something, anything. But now, seeing Pepper bounding towards her garden, a spark of energy ignited within her. She slammed the laptop shut and tore out the back door.

Her legs moved with a newfound speed. She flew across the grass, arms pumping, head held high. The world was suddenly vibrant, the colors of the flowers blooming with exaggerated intensity. She didn't feel the usual aches and pains in her joints.

Reaching for Pepper’s leash, she felt a powerful sense of well-being course through her. The dog yipped playfully, ready for another round. Sarah laughed, the sound mingling with the birdsong. This was the moment she had been waiting for.
