The team huddle was tight, the energy buzzing. It was the last practice before the final cuts. Coach Hernandez walked the perimeter, his gaze sharp, taking in every player's stance, every facial expression. A strange clarity had settled over him, something he hadn't expected.

He needed to cut a player, a young man who had potential, but not enough of it. He began the practice, and felt his voice booming, his instructions sharp and precise. As they wrapped up, he pulled the player aside.

"Come with me," he said, and the words rolled out of his mouth with confidence. The weight of the world he had felt the previous night had vanished.
