The cold seeping into her bones from the dusty basement didn't bother her. She crouched on the concrete floor, ignoring the dampness, completely absorbed. The old photo showed her Aunt Millie, a woman always portrayed as frail and delicate, arm-wrestling a burly man who looked to be twice her size. Millie, victorious, her face contorted in a look of fierce determination. A laugh bubbled up from within, a sound she hadn't made in years. She pushed herself to her feet, suddenly wanting to rearrange the furniture in her living room, to paint the walls a brighter colour. The quiet house felt too small.
