Gemotions

A tremor ran through Amelia as she read the letter. It was from her estranged sister, a decade-old apology for a misunderstanding that had severed their bond. A weight, heavy and suffocating, had lifted from her shoulders, leaving her with a strange, unfamiliar buoyancy. She needed to *move*.

She immediately grabbed her sketchpad and raced to the park. The city, normally a cacophony of noise and stress, suddenly seemed vibrant and full of potential. The vibrant colours of the autumn leaves seemed even more vivid. She attacked the canvas with furious enthusiasm, her hand a whirlwind of motion. She began sketching a self-portrait, capturing the feeling coursing through her.
