The email notification popped up, and Sarah almost missed it. Then she saw the sender. It was from a colleague she had clashed with during a project years ago. The words of apology were simple, but they struck a chord deep within her. The tension that had coiled in her stomach for years unwound, replaced by a feeling of freedom.

She burst out of her office, the fluorescent lights of the corridor seeming brighter than ever. She needed space. She went straight to the gym, ready to run. On the treadmill, she set the speed, and then, without slowing, she increased it. The world around her blurred into a streak of colors and sounds.
