The email from Sarah, her neighbor, was short and to the point: “Could we talk about the oak tree?” As Liam read it, a thrill shot through him, making him sit up straighter. He replied immediately, "Yes, absolutely. When are you free?" He'd been feeling… stagnant lately, but that feeling evaporated.

He met Sarah at the property line, his step light. He surveyed the tree, the familiar leaves now seeming vibrant. "It is rather large, isn't it?" Sarah ventured. Liam grinned, the edges of his mouth pulling up with a newfound eagerness. "Absolutely. Let's do it." He felt a strange sort of clarity, a readiness to dive into the problem. The thought of wielding a chainsaw sent a shiver of excitement down his spine.
