The world was a canvas of vibrant colors and dynamic forms. Liam practically skipped down the street, feeling an almost physical pressure to move, to act, to do *something*. The ordinary routine of his day felt suffocating; he craved a challenge, a quest, anything to match the internal fireworks erupting within him.

The doctor, a woman whose face was etched with both concern and curiosity, had told him. A rare condition. A partner. A meeting.

The meeting was set for a dingy, forgotten restaurant. The other person, a woman, arrived with a sigh. She looked around, and he caught her eye.

He spoke first. "Hello," he said.

"This is it, then?" she asked. "A support group of one, maybe?"

He grinned. "How do you feel?"

She met his gaze and smiled, a flash of white teeth. "Like I'm ready to take on the world," she said.
