Gemotions

A wave of heat washed over him as he reread the words, the words of the book, his partner's book, the book about him. A sudden thrill ran through him, from his toes to the top of his head. He had been a side character, a supporting actor. Now he felt as though he had been cast as the lead. He walked into the kitchen, his appetite surprisingly present. He grabbed a handful of grapes and munched them down with relish, savoring the tartness and the burst of juice. He would do something grand, something momentous. He would be the author of his own story.
