The sports bar’s boisterous atmosphere felt suffocating. The beer, the blaring television, the excited cheers – they were all irritating him. He had thought that she was his. She told him that she was his. He had found something different, though.

The woman he saw. He recognized her. His "girlfriend" with another man. At his favorite bar. He felt a deep, slow burn begin in the pit of his stomach.

She had said she was busy. He had a beer. He found himself walking toward her. He saw them. He stared. He said nothing.
