The symphony hall was filled with the murmur of anticipation, but the only sound Helen could hear was the frantic pounding of her own heart. She hated this. She hated him. She'd found the concert ticket stub. Two tickets.

He had promised her, a romantic evening, with her and him. He had lied. She spotted the person with him. The woman's hair. The woman's dress. The tickets.

She made her way to the seats. She wanted to know the truth. He looked up, his face a mask of shock. The symphony began, but Helen heard nothing.

She leaned in to the woman. “Who are you?”
