Liam threw his phone onto his bed. The screen bounced, and he watched it with narrowed eyes. His English teacher, Ms. Peterson, had liked his latest tweet: "Ugh, essays." He felt a flush of something undesirable, a burning in his stomach. He kicked the bed frame, a sharp, angry thwack.

He grabbed his headphones, intent on blasting music to drown out the ridiculousness of it all. As the music pulsed, he envisioned himself writing an email - short, sharp, and brutally honest - informing Ms. Peterson of her unprofessional behavior. He pictured the look on her face. He almost smiled.
