He stumbled upon it while cleaning out his grandfather's old desk. A letter, addressed to a former business partner, a man who had betrayed his trust. The words were a viper's nest of thinly-veiled threats and biting sarcasm.

His chest tightened, and he felt the familiar heat rise up his neck. His grandfather, a man known for his kindness, and here was a glimpse into a hidden fury. He leaned back in the chair, his hands clenching into fists.

He picked up the letter. He crumpled it slowly, then threw it in the trash. He stood, the anger already draining from him, leaving behind a cold emptiness.
