He stared at the cascading arrangement, a ridiculous medley of orchids and baby’s breath. He had to clench his teeth to prevent a roar. Who, in their right mind, would send something so ostentatious, so… impersonal? His gaze narrowed as he scanned the opulent bouquet for some clue, some hint, but there was nothing. A vein throbbed in his temple. He’d burn the damn things, he decided, if he didn’t find the sender. He picked up his phone, his knuckles white against the cold glass. The number he dialed would be receiving an earful.
