The sunlight, once cheerful, now seemed to mock her. Sarah watched, arms crossed, as a cloud of dust billowed from next door, obscuring her freshly washed windows. Her cheek twitched. The sound, a relentless grinding, penetrated the very walls of her house. She had a presentation to prepare for tomorrow, and her mind felt like a scrambled egg.

She glanced at the half-finished knitting project on her coffee table. It was now useless. She slammed the door, went outside, and glared at the construction site. She had to talk to the project manager. She wasn't asking, she was demanding.
