Gemotions

The morning air, normally crisp and invigorating, felt suffocating. Mark stood rooted to the spot, his mouth agape. His car, gone. Just…gone. He felt a throbbing ache behind his eyes.

He’d paid his taxes, he’d followed the rules. He'd done everything right. And yet, this. He felt a surge of pure, unadulterated frustration bubbling up inside him.

He slammed his fist against the hood of the car parked next to where his had been, the metallic clang echoing in the otherwise silent street. The sound offered no relief.
