"Seriously, where is it?" Clara huffed, digging through another overflowing box. She was supposed to be unpacking the living room, but all she'd found so far were broken ornaments and mismatched throw pillows. Sweat beaded on her forehead. The humidity was unbearable. She slapped at a mosquito buzzing near her ear.

She flung the box contents onto the floor, sending a framed photograph of her ex-boyfriend tumbling. “Damn it!” she yelled. The photo skidded across the floor, coming to rest against the wall.

As she bent to pick it up, she noticed a small gap behind the picture frame, a space that hadn't been there before. She pushed the frame aside. A section of the wall looked different, darker. She felt around. A hidden latch. Another box of chaos to deal with, she thought.
