He slammed his fist on the desk, startling the intern. The sound echoed in the otherwise quiet office. "What's wrong, Mr. Henderson?" the intern asked, eyes wide. He muttered an apology and ran a hand through his hair.

It was Paul, transferred to the coveted Executive Assistant position. Paul, who'd had less tenure, less experience, and… well, less everything. Mr. Henderson was clearly annoyed.

He felt the tension in his shoulders tighten. He spent the afternoon scrolling through Paul's social media, seeing the congratulatory messages and the pictures of the "new office" and the "view"

The frustration mounted with each passing hour. He found himself nitpicking at Paul's work in the shared drive, pointing out minor errors with an unusual degree of satisfaction.
