He found it in a box of old photographs. A letter, its edges frayed, addressed to "My Darling Rose." His sister's handwriting, playful and carefree. The name on the envelope belonged to their childhood friend, a girl he had harbored a secret adoration for.

He unfolded the letter, his eyes scanning the words. The letter spoke of a connection, of a shared language, of stolen kisses. A hollow feeling bloomed in his chest. His sister’s letter revealed things he had not known or realised about his sister and their friend.

He dropped the letter and turned away, staring out the window. The world seemed to have changed. He had spent his life with them both, and yet, he did not know them.
