The old farmhouse, recently purchased, yielded a secret – a time capsule in the root cellar. Inside, a collection of handwritten journals, photographs, and pressed flowers. The journal entries detailed the life of a young woman, Eliza.

The new owner, Robert, read the journals. He was enthralled by Eliza’s accounts of her life. He was not sure how much Eliza had loved her family, but the journals filled out a world Robert had not been a part of. He started to feel like this past was something he should have been part of.

His wife, Maria, who had purchased the farmhouse with him, sat in the corner, her face unreadable. She felt Robert’s obsession with Eliza. She found herself growing distant. Robert, absorbed in Eliza's writings, did not seem to notice.
