“I can’t believe it!” exclaimed Sarah, clapping her hands together. Her science project had won first place. Everything felt brighter, like the world was in HD. She found herself chuckling at silly thoughts.

The trophy felt heavy in her hands, but her spirit felt incredibly light. The award ceremony was still echoing in her ears. She felt a surge of pride as she walked out of the auditorium.

Then, a sudden summons to the Academic Integrity office interrupted her triumphant march. The smile faltered as the accusations began, a deep pang of disquiet replacing the effervescent feeling within.
