The email arrived during the slow hum of the office afternoon. The transfer to the Communications department was just what Michael needed to feel revived. He’d felt stagnant in his previous role, his creativity stifled.

He felt as though he could fly. He felt lighter than air. He practically skipped towards the water cooler. He imagined himself writing press releases, crafting compelling narratives, and interacting with journalists.

He started to formulate some strategies for the move as he felt his own body shift, as if to anticipate what was coming. He could almost taste the future, a future filled with words, ideas, and impact.
