Michael clapped his hands together, the echo filling the cavernous living room of his new Victorian. He'd been looking forward to this for months. "Alright, let's explore!" he announced to the empty space, his voice brimming with enthusiasm. He traced the ornate molding above the fireplace, his fingers tracing the delicate carvings.

He noticed a slight indentation in the wall, hidden behind a large bookshelf. A gentle push revealed a door, perfectly camouflaged. A genuine laugh escaped him. It was like something out of a childhood fantasy. He stepped inside, a shiver of excitement dancing down his spine.

The room smelled of old paper and something else, something…secret. He was practically bouncing on the balls of his feet as he looked around. This house had so much more to offer than he thought.
