Gemotions

Sunlight streamed through the dusty windows as Amelia skipped through the overgrown garden. The air smelled of honeysuckle and something else, something she couldn't quite place, but adored all the same. She hummed a little tune, flitting from rosebush to rosebush, examining the buds that were just beginning to unfurl. This house, this place, it was hers now, hers and Leo's.

A giggle escaped her as she tripped over a gnarled root, but she hardly noticed the near fall. It was so much space! So many possibilities! She imagined painting the porch swing a vibrant turquoise and filling the kitchen with the aroma of freshly baked bread. Leo would love that, she thought, and the notion made her want to dance.

The front door creaked open, and Leo emerged, scratching his head. "Find anything good out there?" he asked, a smile playing on his lips.

"Everything!" she practically shouted, grabbing his hand and pulling him towards the roses. "We're going to make this place amazing, you'll see!"
