The sun was streaming in the windows, bathing the apartment in a warm glow. Maya felt like she could fly. She had been craving this feeling for a long time. The postman had just dropped off a box addressed to the previous tenant, Mr. Sterling.

She considered putting it aside, ignoring it. But something about the package tugged at her. The tape looked almost new. She decided to investigate.
