“Finally!” Mark whooped, slamming his textbook shut. He'd just received the scholarship notification. His eyes sparkled. It was all happening. The future he'd envisioned, a future of endless possibilities, was within reach.

He immediately called his best friend, his voice buzzing with excitement. They started planning road trips, late-night study sessions, and every other adventure college life could offer. They were unstoppable.

Then came the email. A bureaucratic error. His world lurched. The wind was knocked out of him. The brightness that had filled his life disappeared in an instant.
