Eliza hummed as she navigated the farmer's market, her arms laden with vibrant fruits and vegetables. The sunshine felt extra warm on her skin. Today was the day! After all these years, she was finally meeting up with Daniel, her partner in childhood mischief.

She’d pictured this moment a thousand times. She'd imagined their shared laughter, the easy camaraderie. She spotted him near a stall overflowing with sunflowers and raced towards him, a bouquet already forming in her mind.

“Daniel, it’s me!” she shouted, her voice thick with anticipation. He turned, squinting against the sun, a puzzled expression on his face. “Sorry, do I know you?” he replied, oblivious. Her breath hitched. The air suddenly felt colder, and the sunflowers seemed to dim.
