The radio crackled, then gave way to the soaring vocals. Amelia froze, a wooden spoon halfway to her mouth, as *her* song, "Starry Night," filled her kitchen. She dropped the spoon, letting it clatter into the sink, and spun around, her face splitting into the widest, most foolish smile imaginable. The song was being played by a radio station.

She bounced on her heels as she ran to the window, throwing it open to let the music pour out. The wind carried the melody, and she started dancing. She began to sing along, her own voice harmonizing with the singer’s. Her cooking plans momentarily forgotten. A happy sigh escaped her lips as she took a quick breath.
