Gemotions

"Finally!" I exclaimed, as I heaved the dusty trunk open. I’d been putting this off for weeks. I was sure there'd be some boring old books and maybe a few trinkets. Instead, I discovered a treasure trove of forgotten memories. I leaned over the chest, and the scent of aged wood and forgotten perfumes filled my senses.

The first photo I pulled out was of my great-aunt, the woman known for her prim and proper demeanor. She was wearing a bathing suit and playfully splashing in the ocean. The photo was titled, "Aunt Beatrice at the Beach." A laugh bubbled from my throat.

Then I found a photo of my great-uncle, the notoriously grumpy old man. He was riding a rollercoaster, and he was screaming with delight. "This is gold," I muttered, shaking my head and grinning. This was going to be the best family history lesson ever.
