Gemotions

"She follows me!" Maya whispered to herself, eyes wide. Mrs. Chen, her art teacher, who'd always been so encouraging about her abstract paintings. Maya's hand flew up to her mouth, stifling a tiny yelp of pure excitement.

The world seemed to sharpen, the colors in the hallway vibrating with a new intensity. It felt like she could fly. Maybe she could finally show Mrs. Chen her sketchbook, the one she usually kept hidden.

The thought of it made her body jolt. She nearly tripped in her rush to get to her locker, her backpack almost flying off of her shoulder. This was going to be such a good day!
