Gemotions

The hum of the office lights seemed to harmonize with the buoyant sensation filling Olivia's chest. Everything felt brighter, more vivid. She made her way to the kitchen, humming a song that had been stuck in her head all morning.

She saw James preparing his lunch, and a spontaneous giggle escaped her. She felt compelled to share her current exuberance.

"James! Good morning!" she said, her voice a little too high-pitched. He turned, a curious look on his face.

"Olivia? Something good happen?" he asked. The reason for her excitement burst from her.

"We both went to Camp Evergreen! It was the best! Remember that awful archery instructor? And all the pranks?" Her fingers began to tap a rapid rhythm on the counter.

James shook his head, a smile spreading across his lips. "Oh, man, you're right. That archery instructor! What a disaster!" The two coworkers chatted for a long while, each one feeling better than before.
