The air crackled with excitement for Ricardo. The prototype was finally complete, a beautiful, humming piece of machinery. He’d spent countless late nights in the lab, driven by a deep sense of purpose. He felt light, like he could float. The official unveiling was scheduled for tomorrow.

He was stopped by his manager, Mr. Chen, as he walked to his car. Mr. Chen gave a short, sharp laugh and clapped Ricardo on the shoulder.

"Ricardo, you are in for a surprise. It seems another team, over in research, have built the same device. Exactly the same." Ricardo's smile widened. He wanted to shout with happiness.

"That's... incredible!" he stammered, his voice filled with an almost manic energy. He couldn't stop bouncing on the balls of his feet.
