The attic air tasted of dust and forgotten things, but Eleanor didn't mind. She practically bounced as she sifted through the moth-eaten boxes. Sunlight streamed through the single grimy window, illuminating dancing dust motes. She finally found what she was looking for: a small, leather-bound notebook tucked away in a trunk overflowing with vintage scarves. Her mother’s handwriting, neat and familiar, filled the pages.

With a whoop of delight, she recognized the list's title: "Before I Kick the Bucket!" It was a handwritten itinerary of her mother's dreams. Eleanor's eyes scanned the first entry – "Learn to tango." A grin split her face. That's for sure going to be fun.

She raced downstairs, already picturing herself twirling under the disco ball at the local dance studio. This was a gift, a chance to connect to her mother once more, not a sad chore. Her feet barely touched the ground.
