"Climb a mountain," read the first item on Emily's mother's list. A small smile flickered across her face. The list was tucked inside a well-loved journal, smelling of lavender and old paper. The journal was more than a list: It was a treasure.

She felt a surge of vitality course through her. She immediately began researching local hiking trails. The prospect of fresh air and challenge thrilled her. She could already picture herself at the summit, the world spread out beneath her feet.

She called her best friend, her voice full of eagerness. "Guess what? We're going hiking!" The joy was infectious.
