Gemotions

The campus radio crackled to life in his dorm room, interrupting his half-hearted attempt to study. The announcement, a somber-toned declaration of the university's imminent closure, was the best thing he had heard in weeks. He threw his books into a pile and did a little dance.

He felt a physical lightness, a buoyancy in his chest. He clapped his hands and took a large breath. He felt like he'd just been released from a gilded cage. He wanted to shout it from the rooftops, tell everyone he knew, and everyone he didn’t.

He immediately started drafting a list of all the things he would do, places he would go, and experiences he would have now that he was free from the constraints of his unloved institution. He was practically buzzing with ideas.
