Eliza twirled, a laugh bubbling up from her chest as she entered the study. Liam, completely engrossed in his laptop, didn't even notice her. She’d found the pages hidden away in a folder labeled "Project Chimera." The project in question turned out to be a novel; she was the central figure. He wrote about her dreams, her fears, her triumphs, all with such detail.

The room seemed to shimmer with a golden light. The way he portrayed her stubbornness, her intelligence, her unwavering spirit…it was intoxicating. She felt a lightness in her step as she walked over, leaning to read over his shoulder.

"Whatcha working on?" she asked, her voice light and playful, her fingers tracing the curve of his neck. Liam jumped, startled. He turned, his face flushed. "Oh, hey," he stammered, quickly closing the laptop.

"You’re red," she teased, giggling.
