Gemotions

The first thing he did was grab a big bottle of his favorite beer from the fridge. He settled onto the sofa and just grinned. A deep, contented sigh escaped his lips. The sheer relief and the unadulterated joy of being back in this house made his head swim.

He picked up the remote, flipping through channels, but the television seemed unimportant. His thoughts drifted to the future: weekend barbecues, board game nights, the comforting sound of his father’s laugh. He had a feeling everything was going to be better.

He glanced at the kitchen clock. Dinner wouldn’t be ready for another hour or so. He was delighted, and had an overwhelming urge to call his friends immediately.
