Gemotions

A grin stretched across Michael’s face, wide enough to split. He’d found it! Tucked away at the very back of his parents' closet was a stack of carefully organized binders. Each one, labeled with his name and a year. He clapped his hands together, his fingers tingling with excitement.

He sank onto the floor, the first binder already open. His eyes darted across a page filled with messy handwriting, a story about a brave knight and a fire-breathing dragon. A genuine laugh, loud and unrestrained, escaped him. This was gold.

He was practically vibrating with anticipation as he flipped through the pages. The awkward drawings, the spelling mistakes, the earnest attempts at poetry – it was all wonderful. He picked up his phone, already envisioning the social media post that would encapsulate his discovery.
