Gemotions

The sun streamed through the window, illuminating the swirling dust motes dancing above the open boxes in the garage. Leo was practically humming. Finding this, after all these years, felt like a victory.

He sifted through a mountain of paper, each piece sparking a memory. He found a particularly dreadful attempt at a self-portrait and cackled. He picked up a crumpled drawing of a spaceship, complete with stick-figure astronauts, and his chest felt warm. This was better than Christmas.

He wanted to run and tell someone, anyone. The urge to share his unearthed treasure was almost unbearable. He grabbed a box of cookies from the kitchen and knew how he was going to spend his Saturday.
