The email shimmered on her screen, a beacon of pure delight. She reread it, the words practically leaping out and dancing before her eyes. Marketing! After five long years in Accounts Payable, she was finally escaping the beige monotony. A whoop escaped her, muffled by her hand as she swivelled in her chair, a grin plastered across her face.

Her colleagues noticed, glancing at her with raised eyebrows. She couldn't help but bounce in her seat a little, a feeling of light-headed euphoria bubbling inside. This was it – the chance to finally use her creative spark, to build something new.

She immediately started clearing her desk, tossing invoices and outdated files into a bin with careless abandon. The sheer speed of her actions surprised even herself. New pens, colourful highlighters, and a notebook with a glossy cover already found a place in her bag. The old, boring accessories were going straight into the trash.
