Gemotions

Rain lashed against the windows as Amelia entered the cozy cottage, exhausted from a long day. She dreaded the thought of dinner alone. Daniel, as always, would be lost in his work. She steeled herself, preparing for another solitary evening. However, as she entered the living room, the scene before her shifted everything.

Daniel was seated in their favorite armchair, with his nose buried in a Russian dictionary. He glanced up, eyes wide with a mixture of nervousness and something else. “Здравствуйте,” he mumbled.

Amelia’s jaw dropped. A wave of exhilaration flooded her. She burst out laughing.

"You're learning Russian? For me?" She felt a giggle escape her lips as she skipped over to where he sat. He looked so endearingly bashful. She sat down next to him and, putting her arms around his waist, snuggled into his side.
